WordPress Performance and Core Web Vitals After an AI Migration

A converted WordPress site can easily outperform the original React app. These are the settings that matter most.

1. Page caching

Use full-page caching at the host or through a caching plugin. Static HTML served from cache is the single largest speed gain.

2. Images

Serve WebP or AVIF, keep WordPress responsive sizes, lazy-load below-the-fold images and set width and height to avoid layout shift.

3. Fonts

Self-host fonts, preload the main weight and limit families to two.

4. Keep JavaScript minimal

Block themes ship very little JavaScript. Avoid heavy page-builder plugins that undo this advantage.

5. Measure

Check PageSpeed Insights and the Core Web Vitals report in Search Console after launch, and fine-tune the few remaining items.
